Funny things the kids are saying

Prayers have become very interesting over the past few weeks as the girls are obviously putting a lot of thought into there prayers. Lauryn said a lengthy prayer the other day mentioning nothing other than Elyssa and her germs for example, please bless Elyssa not to sneeze her germs on me, please bless that Elyssa's germs will go into the tissue and not into the air!. After the prayer she said "that was my germ prayer" no kidding!
Elyssa has started to talk the potty talk, everything is poop, bottoms etc. It has driven me crazy, especially when we are out in public and she decides to call someone a poopy head! I was not amused. We've even had FHE on speaking kind words, to try and tackle the issue. I told her that she could go on time out or have soap in her mouth! As soon as I had said it I wished I could take it back. She opted for the soap and I have to say I haven't heard any foul mouth since! Lets hope it lasts.
We're learning about Prophets and apostles during a FHE. We have all the old prophets out and we're trying to name them, when Lauryn said that's prophet Obama!! not quite!!
The down side of Lauryn going to pre-school is that she is exposed to the 'real world'. She came home yesterday wanting to know about life savers and Dark Vader!!
Oh the joys of being a parent.

Do we need to see a marriage counsilor or psych!

The conversation went something like this:

I handed matt a couple of rolls for his lunch to go with his soup, some nice homemade rolls if I do say so.

Matt: Do they come with butter?
Bev: Don't they have butter at work?

Matt: (Sings) Where is the love (not sure who originally sang that)
Bev: (Sings) Buy me a rose, call me from work !!! (Luther Vandross)

So whats the verdict do we need to see a marriage counsilor or a psych?

Missionary Work!

A couple of weeks a go I was working on a FHE packet for YW on prophets and apostles. I had trouble printing some of the pages, but I had the wrong printer selected. The next day whilst Matt was at work he noticed that there were several print outs on the printers at his work on Prophets and apostles. So the printer had been set to his work and all the hand outs were sat at his work!! Just another attempt at missionary work I'd say!!

Time change

So I have thought in depth over the past few days about the time change. It was definitely not a mother or father who thought that changing the time in the middle of the night was a good idea. Lauryn & Elyssa were up at 0450 on Monday morning!! This was despite us putting them to bed at the corrected time. Yesterday wasn't much better at 0530. And I must say working a night shift when the clocks go back is not much fun either, as you sit and watch the clocks go back an hour as you re live 0100-0200 again, plus working out the timing of meds, feeds vitals etc definitely takes extra brain power which of course you have plenty of at 0200 in the morning!! Yes I definitely like to say a few words to whoever decided to change the time!!

Thou shalt not steel!!

It really annoys me how stores always have a candy isle at the check out. So we're in Michaels Craft store at the check out and Elyssa is going on about candy. I say no for the seventh time pay and leave. I got home to discover a pack of Rollo's under Elyssa's T-shirt, with Elyssa wide eyed and quiet. I promptly put the girls back in the car and drove back to the store to teach a little girl a hard lesson. Whilst in the line at the check out the lady in front of us asks Elyssa what she's going to buy. I said "oh we're not buying, we're returning!" she soon got my gist and started to laugh!! I have to say Elyssa was a funny site with big brown eyes clinging to a packet of Rollo's as if her life depended on it. Soon the whole line is laughing. I try to seriously make them realise that this was no laughing matter but a very serious situation, I was trying to teach Elyssa a lesson. Well the lesson worked despite the laughter. Elyssa apologised, returned the candy and was very sheepish the rest of the day. Of course I shed a little tear feeling an utmost failure as a mother that I had a thief as a daughter! Where did I go wrong!!

A little bit of home

Posted by PicasaSo the washing machine broke and we went to the Sears outlet to get a replacement. I stumbled across a front loader for 50% off because it had a scratch on the top! It reminds me off home. Every time I put washing in I feel like I'm back in England. I love it.

Where does pen go?

Posted by PicasaWe constantly have the conversation of where pen belongs in our family. Obviously it's not getting through!
